In my honest opinion, the next, and only, step up from Cardboard 2.0 is Gear VR. Get a bigger phone and add some straps to your current Cardboard and you'll be good to go. True, there are some cool-looking games for Daydream, such as Gunjack, but Google has framed its newest VR HMD as more of a personal home movie theater. The 2.0 viewer that you have already is actually pretty good in the FOV department, with a big enough phone it will rival anything out there. This is alot more fun than I expected and is a great escape to watch a movie on a big screen with surround sound with the outside world shut out for a while.
